Zugspitze – Germany Walking Holiday

Take a self guided walking tour around one of the most famous mountains in the Alps. At 2,962m Mount Zugspitzeis the highest peak in Germany . This week long tour will allow you to walk around the base of the mountain and to view it from different angles.  There are stunning gorges to cross as the water gushes below through high, narrow rock walls.  Enjoy idyllic alpine pastures and take your time to enjoy a typical Bavarian ‘Brotzeit’ (a traditional German savoury snack). On both sides of the Wetterstein massif there are  tranquil villages, ideally suited for a good nights rest.

This tour requires a basic fitness level as this tour will take you across varied landscapes from good footpaths to deep forests and steep inclines. Each day will have approximately 5 hours of walking at a comfortable pace, however many of the areas are also covered by cable cars for the more difficult altitude.
