Cinque Terre and Portofino- Italy Walking Holiday

As if it was a little paradise, in this corner of the Liguria region at the end of the Riviera di Levante, we
prefer to give time to contemplation instead of competition. Here, about sixty miles east from
Genoa, several generations of farmers have shaped the mountain by building stone walls to retain
the land and create cultivation terraces, which now offer us a remarkably preserved landscape, with
deep traditions and strong local economy. “Cinque Terre” means five little villages, nestled above
cliffs or along deep inaccessible coves, facing the seafront with colorful houses. Cinque Terre, that is
five countries producing olive oil, anchovies and the liqueur Sciacchetrà also called "Elixir of the
Gods" by the ancient Romans. Moreover, you will reach the peninsulas of Portofino and Sestri
Levante with their posh ports where millionaires stay on their yacht, facing the lonely pines
overlooking green water coves. On the terrace of a trattoria, facing the sun sliding into the
Mediterranean, you will take the time to enjoy the typical focaccia and a glass of white wine after a
long day of walking and discovery. In the evening, you will find the serene small village of Sestri
Levante.
