King Arthur in the UK

King Arthur is one of the most enduring figures of British Legend. To mark the Year of Legends and the release of the King Arthur: Legend of the Sword blockbuster film this year, we have pulled together a list of the top destinations to visit with ties to King Arthur himself:

  • Cornwall: Many of the historical locations in Cornwall have ties to the legendary King. St Michaels Mount in Marazion is believed to mark the site of a great battle between King Arthur and a local giant.
  • Gloucesteshire: Located near Symonds Yat in Gloucestershire is King Arthur's Cave where the remains of a giant human skeleton was discovered.The cave was also used a filming location for the latest film.
  • Somerset: The ruins of Glastonbury Abbey is said to be the resting place of King Arthur and his wife Gwynevere.
