Day 1: Arrival in Lisbon:

Arrive and enjoy the glamour, history and vibrant culture of Lisbon. A visit to 'Alfama' is recommended during your time in Lisbon. (Optional transfer from Lisbon airport)

Day 2: From Lisbon to Costa da Caparica

Start your cycling journey along the river Tejo. The area offers opportunities for leisure and culture, from Parque das Nacoes along the riverfront passing Parca do Comercio - Lisbon's most iconic square. On route to Belem enjoy stunning architecture, gardens, museums, monuments and a variety of cafés and restaurants where it is possible to sample the pastéis de Belém, Lisbon’s world famous egg tart pastries.You will leave Lisbon in Belem and take a ferry boat to Trafaria where you can enjoy the wonderful views over Lisbon and reach Costa da Caparica.

Day 3: From Costa da Caparica to Setubal

A day full of nature and adventure. Pass through the Arrábida Natural Park on the North shore of the Sado River. Crossing the Arrábida hills, enjoy the stunning views of the park's two most famous beaches, Portinho da Arrabida and Figueirinhais from the Convento de Nossa Senhora da Arrabida.  Overnight in Setúbal, a city with many places of interest.  Take time to visit the fish market do Livramento, often considered one of the most famous fish markets in the world.

Day 4: From Setubal to Sines

Start the day with a ferry boat trip through the Sado Estuary Natural Reserve. Usually the ferry users are welcomed by the resident population of Bottlenose Dolphins. This biologically rich area has more than 250 avian species that can be seen during the boat trip. The Sado River region is also characterised by the number of rice fields under cultivation. After the ferry trip, the cycling journey starts in the peninsula of Troia with great beaches, beautiful landscapes of the Arrabida Hills and Roman Ruins.  This stunning region of Alentejo mostly flat.  The plains are full of wildflowers, sunflowers, vineyards.  The villages are characterized by the whitewashed houses and the cities have great charm and a rich history. The legacy from the past can be seen in its impressive castles, Visigothic churches, Roman constructions fragments and even Paleolithic engravings.  The traditional cuisine is diverse with meat, fish and seafood, many types of cheese and good Alentejo wines.

Day 5: From Sines to Villa Nova de Mil Fontes

Enjoy the first day in the Southwest and the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, the finest preserved stretch of European coastline. The day will be filled with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, beautiful beaches, small harbours and fishing villages. The Portinho do Canal sunset is a great moment to capture on camera.

Day 6: From Vila Nova de Milfontes to Aljezur

Marked by high cliffs hiding sandy coves and dunes, enjoy the second peaceful day in the Costa Vicentina Natural Park with its abundance of unique animal and plant species. Head for the small coastal village of Aljezur, with houses typical ofthe rural area of the Algarve. At the top of the hill the castle ramparts and houses cascading down the slope, are a reminder of the historical past.

Day 7: From Aljezur to Sagres

Heading into the the picturesque Algarve region on the last cycling day there is still plenty to see. Sagres is one of the most important areas in the Algarve in terms of its rich heritage. Its significance to world history is tremendous and is testified by a wealth of historical events and legends. The high cliffs rise nearly vertical from the Atlantic Ocean to a height of 75 meters. Don't forget to visit the Lighthouse that sits on St. Vincent Cape to see the beautiful sunset in the southwestern point of Portugal.

Day 8: Depart.

End of program with optional transfer to Faro airport or train station.
