Day 1 - Arrival: Arrive in Santander or Bilbao and enjoy a transfer through to your hotel in Campoo where you can test your bicycles for the holiday.

Day 2 - Campoo - Polientes: Today will take you through some gorgeous unspoilt scenery. You will cycle through the green mountain pastures of the Cantabrian Mountains and along the shores of the Ebro reservoirs and past the Monastery of Montesclaros which is surrounded by forests before finally rejoining the Ebro in the Valley of Valderredible. Today your accommodation will be situated in Polientes. Approximate daily distance: 59km/38m short version or 97km/61m long version

Day 3 - Polientes - Pesquera de Ebro: Start your day by cycling through the Valley of Valderredible. You will have the opportunity to visit the Romanesque church of San Martin de Elines which is a must! As you cycle down the river you will feel the valley close in on you and you will then find yourself in a marvellous canyon with ever-increasing dimensions! Be sure to stop and pay a visit to the fairytale vilage of Orbaneja del Castillo with its beautiful cascades flowing through. As you approach Pesquera, the canyon of Ebro will reach unbelievable dimensions. You will then stay in the attractive village of Pesquera for the night. Approximate Daily Distance: 43km / 27m

Day 4 - Pesquera de Ebro - Medina de Pomar: This beautiful route follows a huge bend in the river that takes you through the most picturesque and undiscovered of villages. You can choose to take the optional extension that takes you to the dramatic village of Puentedey. The village is built on a natural rock bridge over the River Nela. You will then stay in the Castillian town of Medina de Pomar with its old Jewish quarter and the castle dominating the town and the surrounding landscape. Approximate Daily Distance: 36 km -/23 miles (63 km - 39 miles with route extension to Puentedey)

Day 5 - Medina de Pomar - Frias: Today you will head back to Ebro. The cycling route runs parallel to the river where the valley begins to open out again. During today you will be able to visit the Romanesque church of San Pedro de Tejada before cycling through yet another canyon. This canyon then opens out into the fertile valley around Frías. This is a spectacular village built around its castle and enjoying fine views of the Ebro Valley. Approximate Daily Distance: 58 km / 36 miles

Day 6 - Frias - Haro: While leaving Frías, the valley begins to close in again until you find yourself in another spectacular canyon. The road which you cycle runs along the shores of a reservoir and it is surrounded by high mountains and through short tunnels carved out of the rock. Today's cycle route crosses the little town of Miranda del Ebro before passing through imposing peaks that signal the gateway to the enormous open valley of La Rioja. Tonight you will spend in the wine-producing village of Haro, with a chance to drink a glass or two of Rioja in its birthplace. Approximate Daily Distance: 62 km / 39 km

Day 7 - Haro - Laguardia: Today you will cycle through the endless vineyards and numerous picturesque villages of La Rioja. The backdrop of the Sierra de Cantabria mountains and the Ebro never too far away today! You will finally reach the superb walled medieval village of Laguardia where, as in Haro, wine is almost a way of life. Approximate Daily Distance: 25 km / 15 miles short version or 50 km / 31 miles long version

Day 8 - Departure: Transfer from Laguardia to either Santander or Bilbao departure points.
