Mystery and History
With wonderful views across Mount Bay and a glorious variety of wild flowers and seabirds, these walks - filled with haunting stories of the sea - have lots of history and spectacular scenery to interest you. Walk inland through special marshland habitats and onto the ancient Goonhilly Downs while your base in Mullion has a beach nearby, ideal for a refreshing dip. Attractions: Goonhilly Earth Station, Kynance Cove, Lizard village and lighthouse and Predannack Downs. This tour includes bed & breakfast accommodation, a tour pack (including colour coded route directions and a map), luggage transfers and emergency telephone assistance.
3 days, 2 nights
Day 1 - Arrive and check in, then a steady ascent takes you onto the Predannack Downs. From here, you'll traverse farmland towards Goonhilly Downs dotted with standing stones and burial mounds. This area is all part of a National Nature Reserve, filled with rare plants and wildlife.
Day 2 - A gently undulating walk that takes you across farmland to the coast at Gunwalloe. Halzephron cliff will give you stunning views before you follow the coast path back to Mullion.
Day 3 - Today you will follow the coast around Britain's most southerly point. You'll see local landmarks such as the Lion's Den and the Lizard lighthouse as well as enjoying the erosional features created by the sea. A gentle walk with stunning scenery. Depart.
